Get ready to make some messy memories! After the absolute blast we had last year, the Hillcrest Color Run is back on 5.8.26. This event is all about providing a safe, super cool space for our students to socialize while raising vital funds for our school.

 

We need your energy to make it happen! There is a spot for everyone—whether you want to help us plan behind the scenes, join us as a chaperone, or take on the most coveted job of all: spraying the students with color at the stations as they run by!

Prior to the event

Volunteer work ahead of the event is needed to ensure a safe and fun environment during the Color Run. If you cannot be at the event, or prefer a planning role, please take a look at the selections. 


Kick Off Coordinator
Responsible for planning and organizing a student kick off event to be approved by PTA and HMS admin. Possible video. This meant to encourage student participation and provide information to parents. Ideas welcome. *May need to coordinate with photographer/videographer during the event

Rally staff, parents and responsible high school aged students to help before, during and after our event.

During the Event - slots start early at 1pm

We're calling on parents to make our event a resounding success! We need assistance with staffing water stations, managing color stations, and ensuring clear course and perimeter markings. Volunteer to be a part of this amazing event and witness the joy on the students' faces!

This person is responsible for setting up, maintaining order near the water station and serving participants at the event. We are filling large cooler dispensers and using paper cups.

It’s not likely we will have an injury, to be safe, we need someone on hand for the occasional stubbed toe or scraped knee. A first aid kit provided with band-aids, antiseptic, and ice packs

Most coveted position! Super fun way to be involved during the run. Grab a bucket and a sprayer and spread the color and joy!

High School Student Involvement

The Most Vibrant Volunteer Hours of the Year! 

Looking for a high-energy way to earn your service hours? The HMS PTA Color Run is back, and we are looking for responsible high school volunteers to help make it a success! Whether you want to be in the middle of the action or helping behind the scenes, we have a variety of roles for everyone.

The Details

  • When: Friday, May 8th (Rain date: May 15th)

  • Time: Various shifts available between 1:45 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Where: HMS Front Lawn

  • The Roles: Help is needed for event setup, safety chaperoning, and cleanup.

The Highlight: Color Stations

One of the most popular jobs of the day is manning the color stations, where you’ll cheer on the middle schoolers and shower them with vibrant neon powder as they run by. These spots are in high demand and are assigned first-come, first-served—so sign up early to secure your preferred role!

Important Notes

  • Volunteer Papers: You must sign up in advance using the link below to have your hours verified. Please remember to bring your volunteer form with you to the event to be signed.

  • Unplugged Fun: To keep the event safe and organized, cell phone use is prohibited during your shift. Your hands will be covered in color anyway!

  • Reliability: We’re counting on you. If you sign up, please arrive on time and ready to bring your positive energy!


THS Early Release 1:30-2:30pmset up, mark perimeter
Arrive at HMS front yard at May 8 (May 15 rain date) to help set up and mark perimeter. ONLY AVAILABLE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE CLASS LAST PERIOD. This position may involve moving tables and setting up chairs. This position starts at 1:30pm**** and ends at 3pm. Once set up there will be duties to choose from - maintaining order, perimeter, spraying color at stations, staffing HMS tables. First come, first serve. Cell phone use is not permitted during volunteer hours.

THS Volunteer during the event 2:30-4:30
Arrive at HMS front lawn Friday 5/8 (rain date 5/15) at 2:30*** This position has a wide range of duties including set up, maintaining order, chaperoning, and staffing HMS tables.
