The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school. 

Please review the brief descriptions of each volunteer area and indicate your preliminary interests. Your contact information will then be forwarded to the PTA board member or committee chair that is pulling together that activity and they will be in touch with you. We understand that volunteering takes time, effort and energy and the PTA has designed a give back program as a thank you. If you chair a committee or volunteer at multiple events, you may qualify for Chair Benefits. Volunteer Opportunities for Student Related Events

We're thrilled to offer HMS social events, providing a safe and engaging space where all our students can socialize and connect. Some of these events are school-initiated and take place during the school day, requiring a valid volunteer form. Others are PTA events that take place off campus and after school. These events are designed to help students develop healthy habits and learn how to interact positively and responsibly in social settings. We truly believe these opportunities are essential for our students to thrive, develop personally, and grow into responsible members of both the Hillcrest and Trumbull communities.

Career Night (8th Grade)
Assist the Guidance Department in arranging presenters and hospitality for the 8th grade career night. Timeframe Sept - Oct

Fun student event that takes place on campus built around fitness, health and wellness for the mind, body and soul in the Spring at HMS. Lead, or join the committee. All ideas welcome! Many volunteers needed. Timeframe - January-May

Assist the President with organizing an event for students to receive a reward for completing the challenge. Timeframe - Aug-Oct.

Eighth Grade Graduation Breakfast
Organize food, games and volunteers for the Picnic breakfast. Idea's welcome! **Recommended 6th and 7th grade parents chair/work the event as 8th grade parents attend the function.

Picture Day- School Pictures
Coordinate HMS student/faculty photo dates/times with the photographer, PTAC liasion and HMS liasion. Attend to help organize students and assist photographers and help coordinate other parent volunteers, this is an all day event. Timeframe- September, retakes November or January

Coordinate the Reflections Contest at HMS under PTA Council. Solicit and collect student entries and assist in year-end reception.
